Treasure, crypt and royal tombs and even roofs: a night to discover the Cathedral


Saturday 15 June from 20:30 to 00.00 (last entry 23.30) you can visit the Monumental Area of ​​the Cathedral (Tetti, Tesoro, Cripta and Royal Tombs) with the opportunity to see new underground areas of the Cathedral open to the public and the new exhibition path of the Treasury inaugurated last May 13th.

Tickets can be purchased on the day of the visit at the ticket office from 8.30pm to 11.30pm. All those who have purchased tickets before 11.30 pm will regularly visit. The visit will allow not only to discover the architectural artistic elements of the external walls of the Cathedral, thanks to an introductory explanation on the history of the church in the first terraces, but also to admire from above the city with its landscape and monumental riches. Furthermore, it will be possible to access the treasure rooms where to admire the splendid crown of Constance of Aragon, wife of Frederick II and to pay homage to the great Norman kings who lie in the Royal Tombs.

Ticket price: 10 euros for the whole Monumental Area (roofs, treasure, crypt, royal tombs); 5 euros only roofs. Boys 11-17: 5 euros for everything. Children under 10 years free. No reservation is required for the tour. The visit is not allowed to cardiac patients, to those suffering from claustrophobia, dizziness, psychophysical disability, anxiety attacks, comfortable shoes are recommended. In case of bad weather conditions, the visit will be postponed.
